Louis Vuitton Expands into China with New E-Commerce Site

Louis Vuitton

Luxury leader Louis Vuitton has just opened an e-commerce website in China. This comes after – by quite some time –its inaugural Beijing store which opened way back in 1992. This business endeavour deliberately taps into the already prosperous online shopping market that exists in China. Louis Vuitton presently forms part of LVMH, currently the globe’s biggest luxury holdings group.

The French maison will be selling leather goods, shoes and accessories on the new website, along with beautiful timepieces, jewellery and the just-released Les Parfums Louis Vuitton.

This movement comes on the heels of their recently revealed smartwatch, which boasts advanced technology developed in California’s Silicon Valley. The brand new Tambour Horizon combines the technical agility of a ‘smartwatch’ with the stylish sophistication of a Tambour.

According to the released press statement, forms of payment on the new website include UnionPay, Alipay and WeChat. The company’s e-commerce site will launch in 12 Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, ChongQing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shenyang, Dalian, Haerbin and Wuhan. Other cities will be added to the list in time.
This marks Luis Vuitton’s 11th e-commerce site since their debut offering in France 12 years ago.
