Exclusive London Restaurant Araki Receives Three Michelin Stars

The Araki, a Japanese sushi restaurant on Regent Street in London, has just been lauded with three Michelin Stars by the assessors of the respected red culinary guide.

The restaurant is led by sushi master Mitsuhiro Araki, who now joins Alain Ducasse and Gordon Ramsay by adding another number to the top-rated restaurants in the UK. The addition of Araki brings the number to five.

Seating only nine diners at the counter, the restaurant is the epitome of fine, exclusive dining. This set-up, according to their website, means that “every seat is at the chef’s table”. The culinary star has a fixed omakase sushi menu for £300 a person.

Other big winners in the 2018 edition of the Michelin guide for Great Britain and Ireland included Claude Bosi at Bibendum. His restaurant championing cultured French cuisine garnered two stars.

In the end, 20 restaurants were awarded two stars, and the single-starred category boasted 150 addresses, 17 of which are new.

The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2018 is now on shelves.
